Nice to have a regulation win. Those OT losses were getting painful.

Todd, Any chance we see Boucher this year with the big club? He obviously can score but not sure if he can play responsibly enough in his own end. That being said, he can't be any worse than Butler or Matteau

Anybody able to give a scouting report on Palmieri?

Rangers just picked him up from the Wild.

Won't see him in the NHL for a year or two, I don't think.

I did on the Rangers blog but I'd do it again.

Top six potential very unlikely. He's likely to settle in somewhere where Bernier is right now. Your strong along the boards, not afraid to go to the net power forward that gives you a reliable bottom six shift and you don't have to worry about him. His skating when he was in New Jersey was pretty bad, he fell all over the place, not sure if he's worked on it though. Bernier is really the perfect comparison in my opinion, he's a nice addition to the Rangers and would definitely look well in their system. He's got enough offense to where you can play him in the top six (again similar to Bernier) but his best role is as a third/fourth liner.

Yeah....Somehow Kovalchuk had such a great run with him.

I don't hate Palmieri, I just hated him as a RW with Kovalchuk. I wouldn't have minded him on the third/fourth line.

Side note: Rangers called up both JT Miller and Brandon Mashinter. Neither has their first NHL goal, which one scores it on Marty?

Great blog as usual, Todd, although i do have one request. When you list the prospect's stats, could you also mention what league they play in?

Apparently Setoguchi on the trade block. Might be worth looking at.

Hmm. I feel the same. Setoguchi for Tallinder seems fair. Eh? As the season presses on I feel like mobility is key in our system. So, I'd like volchenkov to go, but that cap and NTC...

unfortunately, he's a RW. 6 foot, 200 lbs. .. could be moved to the left i guess.. but would he be the answer for Kovy's wing? He'd give us some depth on wing for sure tho... but he's not putting up many numbers in MIN this year, hasn't for a while actually. Produces like a 3rd line winger. Butler-Josefson-Setoguchi? ehhh...

LOL anyone notice that if you send Butler, Tallinder, and a pick to the Rangers in NHL 13, they give you Callahan? TAKE NOTE, LOU
